Discovering Brevity is the SOUL of Wit was like stumbling upon a hidden gem in the literary world. This collection of six word stories is a entertaining journey through themes like life, work, and sports, each story a tiny universe in itself. It's not often you come across such concise yet powerful storytelling. Each story left me pondering long after I finished reading. For anyone who enjoys literature that challenges convention and sparks imagination, this book is a great read.
I am a primary school teacher and cannot recommend the book to my young students since it's not a children's book, but I have shared information about your book with several colleagues and friends. I did leave a 5 star rating on GoodReads and BookBub.
Six word stories? Lots of them!
Talk about packing a punch with words! 💥Brevity is the SOUL of Wit blew me away with its mini tales that hit harder than a cup of espresso. Sivashankar TP’s knack for storytelling in just six words is mind-blowing. This collection had me hooked from the very first story. It's like taking a roller coaster ride through emotions, all in quick bursts of literary brilliance. If you're looking for something unique to spice up your reading list, grab this book—it’s a tiny but mighty adventure! 🏞️🌟
A must read for aspiring storytellers.
It is quite inspiring to see that Sivashankar has captured the essence of storytelling in six words. Read, enjoy and learn to tell unique stories in six words.
Interesting range of topics covered.
Having been a professional writer, can well appreciate the importance of brevity.
More than 6 or 7 words in a sentence can put off the reader. Weaken the attention span.
This e-book ticks all the boxes for precision in word use. Keeps the reader engaged.
Can help kids pick up some good points in language use.
The book is full of play with words.
I loved the cleverness of the author telling the story in six words. It's fun, short and entertaining. This six-word story is heavenly. Very entertaining. Read them on one go. The way he expressed the stories with only six words are incredible. A lot of these 6 words meant a lot to me. Some had me laughing out load in the middle of my livingroom. I highly recommend if you like short and to the point.
My six-word review: The stories are in the unsaid.
'Brevity is the SOUL of Wit'- the title itself is a stroke of genius!
Brevity is the SOUL of Wit" – how ironic that the author managed to capture such a profound message in such a concise title!
The one-liners using 6 words are truly amazing, relatable and witty. It empathizes that clever people can express intelligent things using very few words.
"No fines for non-functioning signal lights",
"Chatterbox was unusually quiet, mouth ulcer",
"Birthday. Something the twins shared happily"
"Street vendor's math! outshined my degree" are my personal favorites.
Keep going, continue the good work!!!
Treat yourself to a captivating form of writing from a talented author!
Although I am an avid reader, I was previously unaware of this style of writing. Going in, I was quite skeptical of (what I thought would be) the limitations of just six words. After reading, I am still intrigued by the pleasant paradox of this body of work. How can so few words be so thought-provoking? There is certainly power in what is said, but even more potency in what is left unsaid. Do yourself (and your imagination) a favor and check this out!
Everybody has different experiences, but it is rare to be able to understand the true meaning of life through daily affairs. I think this is what is meant by achieving enlightenment in Buddhist teachings.
Brevity is the soul of wit! This is a wisdom saying that I really like. Too much description often occurs due to people fail to grasp the core of the problem, and the key to grasping the core of the problem is to truly understand the essence of the matters, which always requires rich experiences and a wise mind.
I am very glad to have met Sivashankar T P, who is my colleague, and his level of expertise is something I admire! Although we come from different countries and have very different life experiences, as we get to know each other better, I was pleasantly surprised to find that we are also like-minded partners. This must be a rare kind of fate!
Congratulations on your first ebook Siva!
A thought provoking read worthy of your time.
Each of us has a story and it is up to us how it is told. Some prefer to go quietly into the night, with hardly a ripple. Others prefer a noisy tale filled with drama, exploding with fame and fortune. And others decide how to craft the stories they tell and weave a little piece of themselves into the tale being told. Siva has chosen the path of storyteller and poet and in 6 words is able to share his thoughts, complete and unabridged. His wit, and insightful quips let us know his deeper soul: A soul with thoughts of love, of global awareness, and a search for oneness with his universe. Take time to read, to meditate, and identify with those that fit. If the shoe fits, wear it; and, do so proudly for there is only one, uniquely you, in the universe.
